Whitney started with Liberty Resources in 2019 as a mental health RN. She resides in Syracuse, NY with her fiancé, stepson, dog and kitten. She is a strong advocate for patients and believes that everyone can lead a healthy life no matter what obstacles are present. Whitney graduated from JCC, worked in the ICU for three years and then moved to the outpatient role with the desire to help an underserved population. She started working with the substance use disorder division due to her passion for assisting people struggling with addiction and her strong belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
Melissa Jillson is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has been working in the field of human services since 2004. Most recently Melissa assumed the role of Vice President of Clinic and Community Based services and oversees the operation and development of the Integrated Healthcare Clinic, Adult and Children Health Home Care Management, and Adult Home and Community Based Services. Melissa received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SUNY Cortland and her Master’s in Social Work from Syracuse University. She has successfully designed and executed the start-up up several programs vital to the community including community-based residential, crisis stabilization and peer based services, for individuals with complex behavioral health issues. Melissa is well versed in budget planning and oversight, contract management, and in engaging external stakeholders to support new community based initiatives.
Clark began his journey in the healthcare field over 10 years ago when he significantly shifted his career by enrolling in nursing school after a personal experience which showed him firsthand the meaningful and positive impact nurses make on the lives of their patients. After graduating with his RN from Crouse College of Nursing, Clark began his career at Oswego Health, leaving there as a Senior Registered Nurse to take on more responsibility as a Nurse Manager with Crouse Hospital. Clark is currently working towards his MBA in Healthcare Administration and brings extensive leadership experience as well as an innate passion and enthusiasm for excellent patient care to our Primary Care team.
Jody Coppola started her career in Nursing in the Intensive Care Unit more than 30 years ago. She became an educator at Community General Hospital in 1999 while completing her master’s degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Upstate Medical University. Jody provided primary care in her own family run practice until 2014, and she concurrently taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Upstate Medical University until 2017. Jody then took a position teaching as a Professor of Practice at LeMoyne College in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, and she went on to receive her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Buffalo in 2018. Today she practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Liberty Resources part time while she continues to teach at LeMoyne College full time. As a provider at Liberty Resources, she knows that Liberty Resources is leading the way in integrated care which evidence shows improves patient outcomes and reduces health care costs.
Kelly Pawlikowski has been a valued employee for over 20 years, starting her career as a Direct Support Professional in our Developmental Disability Services division. Kelly transferred to Liberty’s Venture House program in 2002 – a mental health transitional residential program in Oneida, NY where she was ultimately promoted to Program Supervisor until she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015 and began working at Liberty’s Integrated Health Center in Syracuse. In 2020 Kelly was promoted to Nursing Coordinator for Primary Care and Behavioral Health – a vital leadership role for the Integrated Health Center. Kelly’s energy, experience and agency knowledge are invaluable assets for the Liberty’s Primary Care team.
Laura has been working in Special Education for more than 27 years and in Early Intervention and Preschool for 22 of those years. Laura became the vice president of Liberty POST in January 2019. Before this, Laura was the Syracuse regional program director for 10 years and became the director of school administration in 2014. Laura holds a bachelor’s in early-childhood development, a master of special education, and a CAS in Educational Leadership/School Administration. She is also an adjunct instructor in the School of Education at Syracuse University. Laura sits on several professional committees and organizations, including the NAEYC, the LEICC, the Preschool Coalition, and several special-interest groups in the area.

Patients, staff, and any individual entering our facility are pre-screened for virus symptoms and have their temperature checked upon arrival with touch-free thermometers.
Ample room is provided within our waiting room and front entrance to ensure that patients can remain six feet from each other at all times.
Scheduled appointments will be staggered to limit the number of patients on-site at one time.
All patients and staff must wear a mask or cloth face covering.
Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and also throughout the center.
We ask our patients to come to their appointments unaccompanied whenever possible.
All exam rooms are thoroughly sanitized in between patient visits.

Steve has been working at Liberty Resources in the Developmental Disabilities division, since 1997. After receiving an undergraduate degree in anthropology from SUNY Potsdam, he found his way to Liberty Resources, starting as a residence counselor in a group home in Munnsville, New York. This experience, and development work in day services and housing, prepared him for his current role as the vice president of the division. Steve has a master of arts in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, at Syracuse University. In his spare time, he enjoys working with the Fayetteville Manlius Little League, mountain biking, and any time outdoors. Steve resides in Fayetteville, New York, with his wife and three children.
David’s original affiliation with Liberty Resources was as a member of the board of directors, in 1996. After 32 years of experience working in healthcare administration and higher education, he resigned from Liberty’s board and became a member of Liberty’s leadership team and a corporate compliance officer. David oversees IT, Business Intelligence, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources. David holds a master of urban planning from SUNY Buffalo School of Architecture. More recently, he completed a master of public administration with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Health Systems Management and Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
Marta is a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in developing a variety of specialty services to individuals with complex behavioral health issues. She received her bachelor of science in social work from Syracuse University and received her master of social work from Columbia University. Marta came to Liberty Resources in 2008 as a director and assumed her role as vice president of Behavioral Healthcare in 2010. She oversees the operations and development of an array of peer-driven, community-based, and residential services. Before joining Liberty, Marta spent a decade managing a variety of behavioral health clinics and prevention programs throughout New York City.
Carrie has more than 25 years of business experience in a variety of industries and has been with Liberty Resources since 2005. Currently, she leads the organization in the role of chief operating officer, providing strategic direction and oversight for all program operations activities and strategic initiatives of the company and providing oversight of the administrative infrastructure (HR, QA, IT, Business Intelligence, Marketing).
Kelli began her career at Liberty Resources in September 2018. As a member of Liberty’s executive team, she has a strategic role in the overall management of the company: Kelli oversees the planning, implementation, leadership, and control of all financial-related activities.
Kelli has more than 19 years of experience in the accounting and healthcare-finance industry. Before that, she served as chief financial officer at Crouse Health, in Syracuse. Kelli holds a bachelor of business administration and accounting from Niagara University and holds a master of business administration from the Whitman School of Management, at Syracuse University. Kelli resides in Cicero with her husband and their three children.
Carl M. Coyle, MSW, is CEO of Liberty Resources, Inc., and has led the organization since 1989. He leads more than 1,400 professional staff and 85 public health programs—serving more than 18,000 individuals annually. Under Carl’s leadership, the organization has expanded significantly since its beginning in 1979, with a current operating budget of nearly $80M. He has devoted his professional life to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable of our society. Regionally and nationally, Carl is sought after not only for his depth of experience in public-health delivery and management but also for his insight into the underlying issues. Throughout his tenure at Liberty Resources, Carl has been an ardent proponent of meeting community needs and of diversifying Liberty Resources’ service mix to an ever-expanding geographic footprint. He has also taught internationally on entrepreneurship and business management and has held a variety of instructor positions throughout his career. He resides in Fayetteville, New York, with his wife. Carl has two children and four grandchildren.
Kortney began employment with Liberty Resources as an MST therapist, in 2006. Her passion for providing quality services to families, along with developing and cultivating leadership skills in employees, paved the way for several leadership roles, leading to her current role of Family Services vice president. Kortney earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master of social work from Syracuse University, where she stays connected to the School of Social Work as a visiting seminar instructor/facilitator. Kortney also serves on the board of trustees at Contact Community Services. Kortney currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with her husband and children.
Jocelyn began working at Liberty POST in 2017, after graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy from New York Medical College. Her experience before POST included working with children and adults of all ages in outpatient, school, and hospital settings. Working at POST, she treats children ages newborn to 5 years who have a variety of diagnoses, including Down syndrome, autism, prematurity, cerebral palsy, torticollis, and general motor delays. Her interests and areas of continuing education include motor planning, NDT-handling techniques, primitive reflexes, adaptive equipment, and sensory integration.
Shakira has been with the Care Coordination program since its inception, in 2017. Originally from NYC, she first experienced CNY when she attended Lemoyne College to study psychology, in 2009. Shakira moved back to the area in 2016 to raise a family.
Jenn has been with Liberty Resources for 10 years, serving as a supervising therapist and, in the last 2 years, as a team Leader. Jenn is a native Central New Yorker, who values being able to provide high-quality services in the place she loves most.
A native Texan, Chris moved to the CNY area in 2007 and began working at Liberty Resources. With a background in special education, Chris spent many years supporting folks in Liberty’s Developmental Disabilities programs. More recently, Chris has moved into a position to focus on training and employee development agency wide.
Derek leads a team of professionals that built and support the agency’s data warehouse and the infrastructure that delivers data to all points of the organization. Before joining Liberty Resources in 2015, Derek spent more than 20 years in software development, including several years in the healthcare market. A graduate of Clarkson University with a bachelor of science in computer engineering, Derek enjoys time away from the office with his wife, following the many activities of their three children.

Alishia is native to Norwich, New York. After her son was diagnosed with autism, she relocated to the Syracuse area so that he would have access to a greater variety of services. When she is not putting a smile on the faces of those she supports, Alishia loves playing with her son and exploring the imaginary worlds he creates.
