Liberty Resources’ Crisis Services provides intervention, response and stabilization for adults, youth & families in the home, community or at one of our crisis residences.  Our crisis teams consist of licensed/qualified crisis providers, peer specialists, and advocates that provide a variety of interventions for those experiencing a mental health, substance use, domestic violence or sexual assault crisis.

Important Notice about our Onondaga County Crisis Residence (Nova House)

Our Onondaga County Crisis Residence, known as Nova House, is temporarily relocating while we update our space.  These renovations are part of our commitment to creating an environment that is comfortable and supportive for those we serve. While we’re making these improvements, services will continue at a temporary location.

Please note: Our Nova House team will be unavailable from 8:00 am on Tuesday 8/26 until 12:00 pm on Wednesday 8/27 as we complete the setup our temporary location.

Mobile Crisis

Regional Mobile Crisis program provides fast response for adults and youth facing a mental health and/or substance use crisis. Calls are triaged by our trusted partners at Crisis Connect, who assess the level of response needed and provide referrals. 

How It Works

  • Anyone experiencing a mental or behavioral health or substance use crisis can call 315-251-0800 for support. Crisis calls are fielded and triaged by Contact Community Services and relayed to Liberty Resources’ Mobile Crisis Team.
  • Crisis Connect and Liberty Resources’ Mobile Crisis Team review and determine the appropriate level of crisis response.  Support may be provided on the phone or in-person in the community where the person in crisis lives.
  •  The Mobile Crisis Teams works to de-escalate the situation and may provide assessment for mental health or substance use, safety or crisis planning, counseling, care coordination, or peer and family support services.
  •  Liberty Resources provides aftercare to all recipients of mobile crisis services, with the goal of connecting individuals with long-term services that address and sustain their needs.

Crisis Residence

Crisis Residence programs offer a temporary, supportive environment to help adults avoid hospitalization and inpatient facilities during a mental health or substance use crisis. Guests can stay for up to 28 days, with the goal of reintegrating into the community with support. We have programs in Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego and Madison counties with peer support available 24/7.

  • 24/7 Support: Staffed around the clock by trained professionals and peer support specialists.
  • Short-Term Stay: Maximum stay is up to 28 days in our Crisis Residential Programs.
  • Person-Centered Care: Services are tailored to each guest’s unique situation, strengths, and goals.
  • Crisis Intervention: Immediate support to de-escalate crises and develop coping strategies.
  • Recovery-Oriented Environment: Emphasis on hope, empowerment, and self-determination.
  • Connection to Services: Assistance with connecting to outpatient behavioral health services, housing, employment, and other community resources.

Mobile Crisis

Rapid response to adults & youth having a mental health crisis and cannot cope within the home or community without crisis supports or intervention. Our teams provide support in Onondaga, Oswego, Madison, Cortland & Cayuga Counties.

Intensive Supports

Specialized services for adults having a crisis/trauma response & cannot remain at home/community without rapid crisis response, leaving the home or going to the hospital.

Crisis Respite Home

Short-term peer & crisis supports for adults in a home-like setting who are having a mental health crisis and cannot cope within the home or community without crisis supports or intervention. We have homes located in Syracuse, Auburn, Oswego and Oneida.

Crisis Assessment & Triage

All crisis calls are triaged by Liberty or a third party crisis provider to determine the appropriate level of crisis response, recommendations and referrals.

Peer Support Line

24/7 phone support by adult Peer Specialists – who “have been there” use their experience to support others and provide a listening ear.

Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault

Liberty Resources’ Help Restore Hope Center is available 24/7 to residents of Madison and Chenango counties who are experiencing a domestic violence or sexual assault crisis.
