Program Description |
The
Brownell
Center for Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health clinic serving children, families and adults with mental illness. In December 2007, in order to preserve the much needed services provided by Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Center (OPCC), the New York State Office of Mental Health approved the surrender of the OPCC Article 31 license. OMH then assigned the license to Liberty Resources. The Clinic was renamed the Brownell Center for Behavioral Health to honor retired Onondaga County Mental Health Commissioner David Brownell, a strong advocate for maintaining clinic capacity for the underserved in our community.
Brownell
Center is the largest community based outpatient mental health provider in
Onondaga
County serving clients of all ages who are experiencing emotional or behavioral problems. Services are offered at 1045 James Street, in ten Syracuse City Schools as well as the
Liberty office located in
Oswego
County . Individual, family and group therapy services, medication evaluations and medication management, crisis services and case management are offered.
