“An Enchanted Evening” was the theme for Intensive Supports for Adolescents and Families’ (ISAF) Third Annual Holiday Dinner, hosted at Liberty’s 1045 James St. location, on Friday night. This year’s offering marked a departure from the traditional format of ISAF’s holiday dinner, thrown for the families and youth supported by the program.
A formal affair, the “Enchanted Evening” began with an Art Showing and “Mock”tail Hour. Families gathered to view pieces that had been created by youth in the ISAF program. Ranging from the virtual to water colors, Jon Benedict (Youth Habilitation Specialist) utilized his Degree in Fine Arts and became the expert consultant to the youth, encouraging them to explore a variety of mediums.
“Mock”tails (non-alcoholic margaritas), created by Marty Sorenson, and hors d’ouevres prepared by the ISAF leadership team were offered by wait staff during the art viewing. A veggie pizza appetizer created by
Katherine Curry was a crowd favorite.
Staff
Ruth Ann Williams was our photographer for the evening. Each family sat for a family portrait. The families were dressed to the nines and looked fantastic in front of the camera.
After the Mocktail hour and art showing, dinner was served! Snowflakes, shimmering centerpieces and classic white tablecloths transformed the Liberty Resources Training Room into a formal dining room. As the guests reached their tables, they were greeted by their own private wait staff. A three course meal was prepared and served to over 100 individuals. The entire ISAF staff team pitched in to serve the families for the evening.
This was ISAF’s first attempt at a formal dinner. It was a very special opportunity for the youth to demonstrate some of the social skills that they have been working on within the program. The staff team agreed that they were the recipients of an early Christmas gift, the opportunity to observe happy families spend a wonderful night with their youth.
No event of this magnitude could be a success without an immense amount of work by the entire ISAF team and without the support of the agency.
Thank you to all who provided logistical support, spent their personal time cooking and preparing for the event, coordinated the décor, transformed our training room into a beautiful special place for our families and donated their time to make sure the evening was a success. As with most projects ISAF does, it takes the whole team to get it done.
