Central Texas Tele-Counseling

Placement Diversion Mental Health Services offered via computer based audio-visual software to 22 counties in the Central Texas Region.

The Placement Diversion Mental Health Program is designed to assist families who have juvenile justice involved youth who are at risk of out of home placement.  The goal of services is to prevent placement, eliminate or reduce future delinquent behavior, safely maintain the youth in the home and community, as well as to increase pro-social functioning and the family’s ability to address future problem behaviors. This program offers Tele-Counseling services provided by Licensed Mental Health Professionals, via computer based audio-visual software, to 22 counties in the Central Texas Region.

Program History

Liberty Resources, Inc.  began providing community based mental health services, starting with Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) and adding Aftercare Services (ACS) shortly after, to juvenile justice youth in Nueces County, Texas in 2008. Since that time Liberty has implemented Placement Diversion/Family Reunification Programs (PD/FRP) in 14 additional Texas counties. PD/FRP, a comprehensive program based on the Structural Family Therapy model of intervention, is the basis for Tele-Counseling Services. The Tele-Counseling Program has been accepting referrals since March 2017.
