Liberty’s Independent Living Team presents at National IL Conference
Laura Moser, Program Educator and Tiffany Bombardo, Youth Specialist of Liberty Resources Independent Living program were recently given the opportunity to attend and present at the National Conference for Independent Living, presented by Daniel Memorial in San Antonio, Texas. Daniel Memorial is the oldest child-serving organization in the state of Florida and has been recognized as the leader in Independent Living for the last 30 years. The National Conference provided Liberty with a unique opportunity to network, keep abreast of current research and tools in the field and to share ideas with colleagues from all over the country. Laura and Tiffany met many professionals with unique and creative perspectives, which was truly inspiring.
The ability to attend such a large scale conference offered the opportunity to present Liberty’s Independent Living Program to human service professionals from across the country and to assess the quality of our program in comparison. It was a great opportunity to share Liberty’s knowledge with other professionals. Laura and Tiffany quickly received requests for more information from the moment they finished the workshop, through the end of the week.
The conference also provided education for Liberty’s Independent Living team, who were able to attend several educational workshops on trauma, assessment, and innovative activities to use with teens. The team is excited to now incorporate the valuable information and tools they learned to further enhance the efficacy of Liberty’s Independent Living program.
