Expanding Access for Adolescents and Children

September 19, 2017

Lack of access to behavioral health care can affect a child’s health long into adulthood. Recognizing this, Liberty Resources Integrated Health Care (formerly known as Brownell Center) continues to expand its mental health programs for children and adolescents.

As the largest community based provider of outpatient mental health services in Central New York, Liberty Resources provides individual and group psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults and families. Additionally, Liberty Resources school-based therapists provide treatment to children and families at 20 school based clinics in Onondaga County.

“There is a tremendous need for children and youth behavioral health services in our community,” says Kim Langbart, Vice President of Liberty Resources Integrated Clinic Services. “Liberty Resources is responsive to the urgent need of Behavioral Health Services through the expansion of clinic hours, increasing the child clinician workforce and hours of available child  prescriber services to better meet the needs of the  children and families of our community.”

Liberty Resources provides mental health treatment, psychiatric evaluation, telepsychiatry, and medication management to more than 3,000 adults and children in the Onondaga County area.

Liberty Resources Integrated Health Care takes a holistic approach toward mental and physical health needs. As a result, Liberty Resource now provides primary care, wellness programs, and co-occurring disorder treatment to reach more individuals in need of these critical programs.
